3.5 We may ask for information to verify your identity before we disclose or change personal data. We do not charge for handling a grievance.
3.6 You may ask someone else to complain on your behalf. We will ask for your written authority. For privacy matters, a person you have nominated under section 14 of the DPDP Act may act for you after your death or incapacity.
4. What happens next and when
| Step | Timeline |
|---|---|
| Acknowledgement with a reference number | Within 48 hours of receipt |
| Investigation by a person not involved in the matter where possible | During the resolution period |
| Resolution with a written response explaining our decision, any action taken, and your options if you are not satisfied | Within 30 days of receipt |
| Complex cases | If we need more time, we will tell you why within the 30 days and give a new date. For privacy grievances we will never exceed the maximum period prescribed under the DPDP Rules (currently 90 days) |
| Shorter legal deadlines | Where the law requires a faster response, the shorter deadline applies. For example, we notify affected people of a personal data breach without delay |
Time runs from the day we receive your complaint. If a deadline falls on a Sunday or public holiday, it moves to the next working day.
5. If you are not satisfied: escalation
5.1 Internal review. You may ask for your complaint to be reviewed by a Designated Partner, Designated Partner name / escalation contact, at Escalation email. We will respond within 15 days.
5.2 Data Protection Board of India. For privacy grievances, if you are not satisfied with our response, or if we do not respond within the time above, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India under the DPDP Act. The Act (section 13(3)) requires you to use our grievance process first. The Board operates as a digital office and accepts complaints online through Data Protection Board complaint portal URL.
5.3 Other remedies. Nothing on this page limits any right you have under law, including before a consumer commission under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 where it applies, or before the courts. For client engagements, the dispute clause in your engagement letter also applies.
6. Records and confidentiality
6.1 We keep a record of each grievance and our response for Grievance record retention, e.g. 3 years after closure, to show how we handled it and to improve our service. We use this information only for handling the grievance, as described in our Privacy Policy.
6.2 We treat complaints confidentially and share them only with the people who need to deal with them.
