This policy explains what information shardhanconsultants.com (the "Website") stores on or reads from your device, and how you can control it. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
- We set no cookies of our own. The Website is a static site with no log-in, shopping cart, advertising or tracking.
- We save two display preferences (text size and contrast) in your browser's local storage so the Website remembers them. They never leave your device.
- Google may set cookies only if you use the Translate tool.
- We use no analytics or advertising cookies. We therefore do not show a cookie consent banner, because nothing optional is stored until you choose to use Translate.
2. What are cookies and local storage?
2.1 A cookie is a small text file that a website places in your browser. It can be sent back to that website (a "first-party" cookie) or to another company (a "third-party" cookie) each time you visit.
2.2 Local storage ("localStorage") is a similar browser feature that lets a website save small pieces of information on your device. Unlike cookies, it is not sent automatically to any server.
3. What the Website stores
3.1 Strictly necessary / preference storage (always on)

These items are created only when you use the text-size or contrast buttons. They contain no personal information, are not sent to us or anyone else, and are needed only to provide the accessibility features you asked for. If you clear them, the Website returns to its default settings, or follows your device's light or dark setting.
3.2 Google Translate (only when you use it)
The Website offers the Google Translate website tool so you can read pages in other languages. When you choose a language:
- Google's script sets a cookie called
googtranson this Website's domain to remember your chosen language (for example/en/hi). It lasts for your browser session, or longer if Google's script sets a longer expiry confirm observed expiry. - Your browser connects to Google servers (translate.google.com, translate.googleapis.com, and related domains). Google receives your IP address, browser information and the text of the page to be translated.
- Google may read or set its own cookies (for example
NID, and others used for security and preferences) if you already have Google cookies in your browser.
Google acts as an independent controller of this data. See the Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses cookies.
If you do not use the Translate tool, choose one: "Google's translation script is not loaded and no Google Translate cookies are set" / "Google's script is loaded with the page, but it does not set the googtrans cookie until you choose a language".
3.3 Google Fonts (no cookies)
The Website loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Google Fonts does not set cookies, but your browser sends your IP address and browser details to Google to download the fonts. See the Google Fonts privacy FAQ.
3.4 WhatsApp link (no cookies on this Website)
The "Chat on WhatsApp" button is an ordinary link. Nothing is shared with WhatsApp or Meta until you click it. After that, WhatsApp's own terms and cookie policy apply on WhatsApp's pages and apps.
3.5 Server logs (not cookies)
Like any website, our hosting provider records basic request details (IP address, browser, time and page) in security logs. These are described in section 6 of our Privacy Policy.

We use Analytics provider to understand which pages are useful. These cookies are off by default and are set only if you click "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie settings link in the footer.

4. How to control what is stored
4.1 Reset on the Website. Press A in the accessibility toolbar to return text to its default size, and use the contrast button to switch the display back. To remove the stored items completely, clear this site's data in your browser (see below).
4.2 Browser settings. You can view, block or delete cookies and site data in any browser:

4.3 Blocking third-party cookies will stop Google from setting its own cookies, but the Translate tool may then not remember your language.
4.4 Private browsing. In a private or incognito window, your preferences and any googtrans cookie are deleted when you close the window.

5. Changes
We will update this policy before we add any new cookie or storage item. If we ever add optional cookies, we will ask for your consent first.
